I really should be doing something else (Dissertation, essay, reading). I'm having a fail at concentrating on anything important week. The only thing I've managed to do for days is wrestle with the University Library journal system (Which doesn't have access to half the articles that might be useful (Read: Make vague oblique reference to in literature review/conclusion to pad out reference list) or half the things that are actually relevant)

Anyways I finished up Go-Onger and Kiva. Watch out for spoilers

I was disappointed )

Decade and Shikenger

Hopes )

I'm interested in quite a few dramas this season. Love Shuffle and Zeni Geba don't have hardsubs out yet so I'll focus on Mei-chan no Shitsuji and Voice.

I am such a tool )

For all I complain about University I sure do get lazy the second it finishes. I haven't done much except read 'The Red Queen' by Matt Ridley and 'Superior Saturday' by Garth Nix since I finished my exams last month. Also I have clocked up an insane number of hours on Final Fantasy 12 and still have exactly no feeling of accomplishment because it was frankly to easy and too boring. The only reason my Clan Rank is higher than my brothers is because of all my patient hours trying to eek some fun and challenge out of the damn game. Honestly Square need to up the ante for veteran players because this is just insulting.

Hitting that Social Balance )

Also all the cramming (and obsessing) paid off, the late nights and surreptitious studying whilst on the counter at work obviously did the trick as I graduated my second year of university with a high 2:1. Sweet.

And alas to Toku.

Tomica Hero Rescue Force )

Kamen Rider Kiva )

Engin Sentai Go-onger )

Kamen Rider Faiz/Phi/555 )

Not really sure if it is Toku or not

Keitai Sousakan 7 )

Definitely not Toku

Rookies )

Delicious Gakuin )

Now finish up some writing.

Why!

Engine Sentai Go-Onger 13 Subbed: I fell asleep when I was watching the initial broadcast, a combination of exhaustion from late nights to get in all my uni assignments and being on my feet for a good ten hours for work. It was good, completely jumped the shark at the end and wow, Kegarishia cleans up well.

I was at work Monday for audit. One of my bosses said to me that I have absolutely tiny feet. I said well, I'm not tall and there isn't a lot of me so why would I have big feet? He said yeah but they're still tiny.

Why are men so amazed with how small womens feet are sometimes? Don't they understand proportions?

Audit sucked anyways, severely understaffed , we hadn't even started the hand counts when myself and another girl had to leave at midnight. Still free dinner so it wasn't the end of the world.

Support woes )

Four weeks?

Oh well.

University caught up with me, three assignments all in on the same day (And dear lord two got way more complicated than need be). My dissertation supervisor got the man flu and got me an extension on my project preparation which after obsessing about it for nearly three weeks he finally gave the okay to finish it off and hand in. I hope I got a decent mark for it, as I had revised and edited it so many goddamn times. On the bright side I can finally have some lie ins and after a week with about twelve hours sleep my body is loving me for it.

Got caught out with lack of sleep as well, last Saturday I set my alarm for seven am to get up for work, I recall turning off my alarm putting on my TV and getting my raisins and apricots. The next thing I remember is its twenty to nine and I'm due there in five minutes.

Setting a new record for getting ready I rush out manage to call work to say I'll be a bit late and because I called and apologized and my boss didn't write me up for it. Also after much badgering I'm finally getting to talk to my bosses about a well earned pay rise as I'm still on basic despite being both business and service desk trained and cashing up the tills at the end of the day. No more £5.75 an hour for me. And considering some of the crap I have to put up with (I swear the crazies co-ordinate their efforts to torture me and the other weekend staff) and I've been there a good eighteen months, done all the training I think its about time.

Kiva 17 and other J-Drama, possible spoilers )

Last Monday I went down to the Old Bailey with some of the members of my Forensics class. It was really interesting sitting up in the public gallery but was also a bit awkward us random students peering down on a variety of cases, we caught some odd looks from the people there.

I still have my revision to do for my exams at the start of next month, I'm still procrastinating over it a lot but I'm still learning, if slowly. Urgh.

Anyways I have some posting to do over at Sentai Gauken then I'm going to get a little more revision done. I do have work tomorrow but its audit so hopefully minimal dealing with customers. Woho!

Work It!

I finally got back to the gym today. Oh how I missed it. My overall fitness doesn't seemed to have slipped too much which was what I was worried about after spending nearly three weeks at home. Theres nothing better though than getting back to the treadmill. That and some spiffy new gym clothes to break in, after a year of being size six I finally got round to getting some correctly fitting tracksuit bottoms and have found some really great t-shirts with built in support which is great when going it hard on treadmill. It really cleared the fuzz, active body, active mind. Which is important as this month is going to get crazy.

It shouldn't be to bad though, I've got all the information I need or I know what I need to get so its just a matter of doing. To the Grindstone!

Order of Zeronos already got Kiva 11 out, what fantastic turnaround times, it was fresh on their tracker when I got up this morning they had the entire thing done in less than fifty-six hours from the time of broadcast, incredible. I have to say I'm liking it more than Go-Onger at the moment, the story is far more intense at the moment. Plus Go-Onger feels too safe, like the writers aren't taking to many risks with the story. Could be a matter of time, there haven't been quite so many episodes yet.

Oh well, work to do.

Easter!

Well after a busy and stressful seven weeks of uni its time for the Easter break and thanks to some careful planning and a minor twisting of dates I managed to get the entire break off from work.

No stupid Easter Monday at work for me!

I have managed to be spending more time in the Tech Bay at work and have graduated to doing system restores and data transfers (I even got to remove a laptop hard drive this sunday) so I'm moving up in the world a little.

At uni class has been tiring and I've got quite a bit of work to get done over the next three weeks but hey at least I'm spending it at home.

For my dissertation research we got the results back, most of the DNA sequences turned out pretty good, we had a few drop outs but it's looking good, we'll have the full verdict in the next few weeks.

Myself and L had a really peaceful week at the house as J was away, no late night or early morning clomping, no ominous atmosphere it was fantastic. I gave L her birthday present early as she's gone back home to SA for the holidays, a book on bad house/flat mates. She loved it.

I traveled home Sunday evening having to get a train, bus then another train due to rail works. Seems an odd time to do them, after 6pm at night but whatever floats railtrack's boat eh?

Finally though I get to spend some quality time with my Nintendo Wii. I brought one a few months back at work (10% discount) but then realized I didn't want it in my house because as much as I trust my housemates not to break it I would feel obliged to let them use it and then I'd be out and they'd let their friends use it and since it cost quite a bit of money (Most of my Christmas bonus) I decided I'd feel much better sending it home to my brother (Who loves me for it) so finally I can enjoy it and FF12 on our third PS2 (The damn things keep breaking after a couple of years).

Toku

Go-Onger 5: Nice bit of Renn focus but it was more of a Renn & Hant 'learning about each other and working together' episode than one focusing purely on Renn's character. I was surfing Rangerboard earlier and Mum spotted a picute of Hant and thought he was cute. My Mum has good taste

Kiva 8: Fantastic, great fight scenes, jealous Shizuka, Nago being Nago, Megumi looking like someone in a thirties musical and Wataru, still working on the backbone.

Well I'm off to catch up on some gaming

In the interest of being social with my peer group i.e Second year forensic science students I along with my friend A (Not my ex-housemate A, someone else. My dissertation partner, in fact) and her sister AA went along to the Forensic Science Society Easter Quiz.

Now before you start rolling your eyes it was more a general knowledge quiz than a science quiz. And so about fourteen people plus the quiz master, one of the Forensic Science and Chemistry departments lab techs were crammed into a random room with some random nibbles, fizzy and fruit juice.

It was supposed to start at seven thirty but that ended up more like ten to eight, some people were late due to the fact they were bringing booze. Now I should have left then but silly me, I stayed. The late comers were dressed up for some sort of pimps and hookers party. How degrading is that? Dressing yourself up as someone willing to trade sex for money and shouting it loudly. You are a Forensic Science Student. You have seen the case studies and the grizzly photos of the rape victim we looked at last semester. What is wrong with you.

You wear a tiny skirt and give the damn quiz master, the department lab tech an eyeful of your underpants (I hope) what is wrong with you, you've had barely three glasses of that cheap wine you brought with you.

Myself A and AA were in a team by ourselves, to be honest we were just there to be sociable and friendly with our classmates but seeing some of them after such a small amount of alcohol. I feel ashamed and embarrassed. I'm just glad none of our lecturers were there to see it.

After a tortuous hour and fifteen we finally made it through the quiz only for the aformentioned team of pimps and hookers to start cheering loudly everytime they get a correct answer.

I was just glad to leave. That was a rotten evening. A, her sister and I are never going to go to one of those events again.

But onto happier things A and I are getting our first round of results back from the DNA sequencing company tomorrow, can't wait to see what results we've got.

I haven't done a Toku ramble in while so here goes.

Geki: TV-Nihon subbed the movie, good action but very rushed in places, would have benefited from another half hour. Looking forward to the team up now.

Den-O: Yes! Ore Tanjou! In fully subbed glory. Fantastic action, good view of Yuuto's lovely rear, Momo, Ura, Kin and Ryuu all on fine form. Big Hana and some great acting from Takeru Sato. All is good and right in the world. If only the Geki movie had been this long.

Go-Onger: As child-friendly, camp and colourful this series is I'm finding it strangely addictive. Hant is adorable, I have to agree with whoever said Sion 2.0. Saki hmm sweet, she deserves not to get shafted like Ran did last year. Renn: Like. Very much, could do with a focus ep. Sosuke: Somewhere in between Ban and Jan which isn't a bad thing since I don't tend to identify with Red as much as I do with other characters. Gunpei: Once you get past the facial gurning he seems to be a good character. But seriously the faces. *Shakes head*.

Kiva: I like Wataru, very conflicted, very adorkable, very well acted I loved how mad he was in Ep 6, he was slinging the Fangire around before his henshin finished. But I think the boots he is wearing are too big for him. Anyone else notice that? Megumi. If I start on her we'll be here all night. So I'll keep it short. LEARN TO GET OUT OF THE GODDAMN WAY YOU STUPID COW. IT IS NOT HARD. SEE THE CAR/WALL/OTHER LARGE OBJECT WITH SPACE BEHIND IT, YOU CAN USE IT AS COVER. Also get a GODDAMN BETTER WEAPON.

Nago. Nago, Nago, Nago. I hope Wataru grows a backbone and kicks his well sculpted butt hard. Many times. He possesses no logical sense, why not let Kiva kill the fangire, he's doing your job for you and he'll be tired and hence easier to kill when you finally don your armor since killing Kiva seems to be your major goal in life.

Shizuka, nice, sweet. Not much else to say.

The 1986 storyline is progressing well, the addition of Garulu to the mix. Otoya is a tad OTT whilst Yuri is entertaining in her put downs.

Looking forward to next Sunday to pick up the raws.

Catch ya later

Okay, I like the night, 3am study sessions thats me! Constant pain in the butt to my more unhinged housemate when I potter down to the bathroom in the small hours(The other one seems perfectly fine about it). Definitely not a morning person? *Raises hand*

But for the past two morning I have had to been up at the ever so cheerful hour of 6 am to get to the Biological Anthropology labs for 8am to working on my dissertation pilot project. It's bloody hard work as well aliquoting tiny samples of DNA, buffer and a whole lot of other stuff. My shoulder was so stiff when I finished.

Needless to say work is not happy with me since I can't do my Wednesday shift the only other time I can work when it wouldn't clash with lectures is 7:30-13:30. That means a 5:30 start. It's a conspiracy, they're trying to screw up my life by making me have to get up at times where I might still actually be awake from the previous day. Cursed insomnia.

But I think the stress is getting me down, my body keeps crying out for sugar which only actually gives me energy for an hour. Coffee barely scratches the surface, it was 9:30 am in my morning seminar yesterday and I was bobbing back and forth about to drop off only to jolt back awake a second later.

I feel rather stressed at the moment.

My parents came up this afternoon, had a nice lunch at a Japanese restaurant then did some shopping. Good fun, mentioned Mum's next birthday to my Dad six and a half months in advance to make sure he saves up for it as it's a biggie. Pretty much dinner and a show and maybe an overnight stay, depending on how it goes. Trying to avoid a big family gathering as Mum is fed up with her sisters being uppity and my Nan failing to see my Mum's point of view. I want her to have a nice birthday. Makes me glad I only have one brother and a younger one at that. Unfortunately despite living a two hour train journey away from my family it seems to fall to me to do most of the organizing. However this works it's going to be clever. Fortunately I have the internet and a credit card.

I'm liking the Go-Onger premier, the cast seems picture perfect, I couldn't believe it when I read that Hant's actor is only sixteen! They're getting younger all the time.

Kiva. Garuru form rocks, the finisher is a bit iffy but the sword is cool and the rest of the fight choreography rocks. It's been especially good this year and last years was pretty fantastic. And Wataru, he's so honorable and packed with adorable guilt by proxy. Oh how I want to give him a motherly hug and tell him it's going to be alright.

I've also joined Sentai Gakuen as Retsu but I think I'll wait till I can hold a single thought in my head then concentrate and make sense of it before I post.
