Musings and Alcohol
Oct. 19th, 2007 11:23 pmI had a social with people from the Jiu Jitsu club tonight. Nice dinner at a noodle bar but as we filed out of the restaurant some of them were talking about getting absolutely plastered in a sense that they were going out for nothing else, the whole purpose of going out was to get completely legless.
Now, I like a good drink or three but I don't go out for the sole purpose of getting plastered, I go out to dance and have a good time with my friends. With this in mind I said my goodbyes and headed to my house. I feel like I was being looked down upon for not wanting to drink myself silly. Sure I'll go out and party but battling a cold and half nine to half six at work tomorrow, a hangover is just what I don't need.
Now I feel like a wet blanket but that said I can hardly breathe through my nose and am having periodic coughing fits so I think my decision was the right one.
It does make me wonder though, how people are judged on how much they drink or don't, it seems like everyone I know has some tale of alcohol related debauchery whereas my most interesting experience was... actually I don't find drinking that interesting, yeah I like a drink but I don't like getting drunk. I'm going round in circles.
I am however enjoying university and living with my housemates, much better than last year; more interesting less fluff.
