May. 29th, 2009 06:57 pmSo I received an e-mail from my supervisor yesterday. The entire text was:
Sorry, had to dash for airport, see you monday.
Exactly how does that answer any of my questions? What about my dissertation which I attached? What about my deadline being 5pm today? What about asking for another extension? I included my phone number and the woman who approves extensions contact details.
In the vain hope that he would actually do anything useful I went to see extensions woman who though sympathized with my position had not received anything from my supervisor and thus could not extend my deadline, especially since it was 'finished' (In the sense there was nothing more I could do without having further input). It was done to the best of my ability but my supervisor is stupidly particular about things and I'm worried that its missing something/something is not done the way he wants.
I have spent a year jumping through hoops for this, stressing myself out and probably contributing to my health problems and he cannot take the time to write me a proper reply. I have sat in his office for hours on end waiting whilst he writes carefully worded e-mails to other people instead of looking over the piece of work I stayed up till 3am to finish. I have sat outside his office, in foyers, taking time out of my day to walk to out of the way places just so I could have a meeting which he is always late to. I damn well deserve at least a 2:1 for this. The write up may not be exactly what he wants but that his is own fault, he himself said a few weeks ago at the project presentations I know what I am talking about (Got a 1st for the presentation, despite being so nervous I was shaking the entire time).
I am glad to have it handed in though. I just have a 90 minute exam Wednesday (Need to cram like no-body's business) and then I am finished.
Also since I missed lunch whilst he was dashing to the airport I went to the Japanese restaurant in town. It was good. I felt so much better for treating myself.
